Hello & Welcome.

I’m Emily!

I’m a graphic designer and brand builder with over 15 years of experience. After working in the print industry and managing wildly creative projects, I was introduced to the tourism industry while serving as the in-house creative for Visit Saint Paul. During my five years there, I focused on graphic design, as well as capturing photos and videos, and was honored to receive Destination International’s 30 Under 30 recognition in 2017. My most recent role in the tourism industry was as the Creative Director at Zartico, where I built and maintained brand consistency while handling all the day-to-day design work.

From day-to-day design execution to high-level brand strategy—I truly enjoy bringing a full and purposeful brand to life through every touchpoint of a business or destination.

As a designer and brand builder, I constantly ask the question “Why?” and strive to answer it in every brand decision I make. Design is intentional, and I believe every aspect of a brand should be intentional as well. I thrive in the messy middle—taking differing thoughts and opinions about a brand, project, or event and shaping them into a successful execution.

What I Believe:

  • Clarity is Queen. Clarity in the process, clarity of your positioning of your brand, clarity in setbacks or roadblocks… Kindness and clarity go hand in hand and are a couple of north stars within my business.

  • Everything is figureoutable (thanks, Marie Forleo!)

  • Family before profits, but these profits support this family. I believe there is high value in all of our time and experiences.

  • A rising tide lifts all boats. Support and mentorship are how we all succeed.

Striving for Balance

I started my own business to find balance in my life. I strive for flexibility and balance in my work and family life. As a mother of two kids, you will absolutely meet one or both of my children at one point during a meeting. My furry office manager will also, more than likely, pop into a meeting.

3 Problems I solve for brands:

Inconsistency

Brand is the invisible string that connects all the dots between each department, creating one coherent message and vision throughout your entire organization. Inconsistencies throughout the customer journey create confusion, and a confused potential customer will be looking elsewhere.

I help business owners step into the next stage of their business when they are tired of having their marketing collateral look inconsistent and unprofessional. I help them elevate their business by creating a meaningful brand and cohesive, professional marketing materials that reflect their values. Let’s align your genius with creative that truly represents your work.

Lack of Confidence

Have you ever had that feeling when you’re networking or promoting your business, and you pause when it is time to hand over a business card or send someone to your website because you’re feeling a little uneasy about your messaging or a little embarrassed about your overall brand?

I know that feeling and I will support you in the process of building a brand you can feel proud of. My goal for you is to feel proud of your brand and excited to send people to your website.

Step into your confidence and market your business with a little chip on your shoulder.

Missing Design Skills or Resources

I routinely hear “This was so nice to talk through with someone who understands this side of the business.” after meetings that are simply set up to talk through creative problems you’ve run into or bottlenecks in your processes.

You may be tired of using your time on the elements of your business you don’t love, like laying out your marketing materials or deciding your booth design for that upcoming event. My role is to get you out of Canva and free up your time and energy to focus on the areas of your business that you love. Spending time in your area of genius will make your business thrive and my support will help you be seen. Let’s create professional designs that elevate your brand while you spend time growing your business.
